Key Features
- Binds aflatoxin
Sorb-it is a unique mixture of naturally occurring silicates. It consists primarily of silicon, oxygen and certain metals such as aluminum and calcium. Sorb-it works in the intestinal tract. The Sorb-it molecule attracts and attaches itself to the aflatoxin molecule. Once attached, the complex of Sorb-it + aflatoxin remains undigested and is passed out of the body with the feces. In laboratory studies, Sorb-it bound 98.5 - 99.3% of the aflatoxin. Sorb-it is stable over a wide pH range, enabling it to work in virtually any digestive tract. - Allows aflatoxin to pass harmlessly through digestive tract
Aflatoxin must be absorbed into the bloodstream to cause damage. But since the Sorb-it + aflatoxin complex does not degrade during digestion, it does not enter the bloodstream. - No palatability problems
Feed palatability is not affected by the addition of up to 6 kg (12 lb) of Sorb-it per ton of finished feed.
| Name | Sorb-it Aflatoxin Binder |
