The SFK Group was established in 1931 as a central purchasing organization for the Danish slaughterhouses. Since then the SFK Group has developed rapidly, and today ranks amongst the leading, internationally oriented, production, supply and installation companies covering a worldwide market.

The SFK Group is today a limited liability cooperative owned by amongst others the major slaughterhouse companies in Denmark, including Danish Crown, Steff-Houlberg, Tican and Vestjyske Slagterier, with Danish Meat Research Institute, Danish Meat Trade School and ESS-FOOD being associated companies.

The SFK Group consists of a wholesale sector, and a technical sector.

The wholesale activities cover a complete range of supplies to the slaughter and meat processing industries including spices, additives, casings, non-food articles and all types of packaging.

The technical sector of the SFK Group has a number of sub-companies, with SFK Meat Systems a.m.b.a. being the prime member. SFK Meat Systems a.m.b.a. manufactures and installs complete solutions for slaughterhouses from lairage, through stunning, killing, transport systems, primal cutting, deboning, processing and packaging. In addition, SFK Meat Systems a.m.b.a. has developed integrated weighing, identification and data collection systems (collectively termed Production Tracking Management Systems (PTMS)), which can be incorporated as an integral part of the complete supply.

Furthermore, SFK has associations with some of the major producers of specialized and stand-alone equipment which compliments the SFK range of equipment, and can therefore secure clients a complete solution.
