Pilgrim's Pride Purchases Prepared Food Products Plant

Pilgrim's Pride Corp. has purchased a prepared food products plant from Plantation Foods, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cargill, Inc., located in Waco, TX.

"Pilgrim's Pride is experiencing strong demands for our chicken prepared food products and the Waco plant acquisition will help us fulfill our customer's needs," said Cliff Butler, vice chairman of Pilgrim's Pride Corp.

Pilgrim Pride's Corp. is the fourth largest chicken company in the U.S. and the second largest in Mexico. The company operates processing plants, distribution centers, hatcheries and feed mills in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Oklahoma and Mexico.

Cargill, Inc., is an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, financial and industrial products with more than 1,000 locations in 65 countries.
