Penetron Ensures Potable Water For Poultry In Kazakhstan

East Setauket, NY (PRWEB) - Completed in December 2020, the expansion (2nd phase) of the Makinsk Poultry Farm in Makinsk, Kazakhstan more than doubled their output. The Penetron System was specified to ensure a waterproof – and non-toxic – solution for the farm’s water storage tanks.

Makinsk, a town of about 16,000 inhabitants in northern-central Kazakhstan, now counts many more chickens than humans in the total population thanks to the latest expansion of the town's chicken farm. The Makinsk Poultry Farm, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Baiterek Venture Fund, and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, originally opened in 2018. This first phase project comprised all stages of poultry production, from egg hatchery, poultry rearing, and slaughtering to meat-and-bone meal production. With 800 employees, the Poultry Farm’s annual production capacity reached 25,000 tons of chicken.

Second Phase of Expansion Completed
Today, the 2nd phase of construction expanded the production of poultry meat to 60,000 tons per year – with processing capacity running at an amazing 9,000 broilers per hour. Employee headcount has also grown to 1,370.

“The Makinsk Poultry Farm is now the largest chicken farm in Central-Asia,” extolls Pavel Salnikov, Director of Penetron Kazakhstan. “Today, with the added capacity, the farm provides over 20% of domestic demand in Kazakhstan, which also reduces the volume of imports. It’s a big step towards food security for our country.”

Optimal Solution for Watertight Water Storage
Penetron Kazakhstan consulted with the project engineer for a reliable and permanent waterproofing solution for the facility’s new concrete water storage tanks. The Penetron System was specified to ensure durable concrete structures that would also meet the local regulations (similar to the NSF-61 standards in the USA) for safe drinking water. Because all Penetron crystalline waterproofing products are certified as completely non-toxic with no VOCs, they represent an optimal solution for the water storage application at the Makinsk Poultry Farm.

Non-Toxic and Easy to Use
Once applied to a prepared concrete surface, the proprietary chemicals in Penetron crystalline products react in a catalytic reaction to generate a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete. These crystals permanently self-heal and seal micro-cracks, pores, and capillaries against the penetration of water or liquids from any direction, making the concrete impermeable – even under high hydrostatic pressure.

“The Penetron System is not only safe for use in potable water applications, it was also easy and quick to apply to the Makinsk Poultry Farm’s new concrete water tanks,” adds Pavel Salnikov. "Ultimately, the Penetron solution helped keep the latest expansion on schedule.”
