New Leak Detector As Ishida Highlights Its Versatility

A revolutionary new leak detector for fresh foods will be unveiled on the Ishida Europe stand at this year’s PPMA Show.

The Ishida AirScan offers fast 100% reliable and completely non-destructive identification of leaks in MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) packs. It is ideal for a wide variety of products including fresh meat and seafood, salads and ready meals.

The leak detector is one of a number of quality control solutions on show from Ishida, which also include the company’s market leading X-ray and checkweigher models. Four multihead weighers on display will highlight the breadth of models available from Ishida to meet all types of applications and products.

Ishida’s advanced high performance X-ray inspection system, the IX-GA-4075, can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size.  Its unique Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology enables operators to ‘train’ the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. In addition, it can spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products, and the software allows product masking and weight estimation.

The DACS-G checkweigher is capable of exceptional speeds while maintaining high accuracy, and, at the touch of a button, is able to switch between two weighing ranges, allowing food manufacturers to handle more products on one machine. It can be specified with a Reject Failsafe System to help food processors comply with latest supermarket codes of practice.

From its top of the range RV multihead weigher series, Ishida will demonstrate a model with 3 litre hoppers, ideal for less sticky fresh and frozen foods, at speeds of up to 100 weighments per minute (wpm). RV models combine higher speeds - some 15% faster than previous ranges – with consistent weighing at close-to-zero giveaway. An improved user interface includes an ultra-fast touch screen for quicker and easier set up, while the CCW-RV can also be operated remotely via wireless access with tablets, androids and smart phones. Enhanced security features include fingerprint verification access.

The hygienic design is IP69k-rated and maintains Ishida’s legendary durability and reliability, with a robust construction that enables the weigher to operate reliably even in the most difficult environments. A new Power Management system provides three power modes (Full, Half and Eco), which help deliver 20% lower power consumption.

The entry-level 14 head Ishida CCW-SE-214 multihead weigher offers fast and accurate weighing of all types of dry applications such as snacks, confectionery, biscuits and pasta with a top speed of up to 90ppm. Combining improved productivity and efficiency with minimal downtime for cleaning and maintenance, the weigher offers a rapid return on investment.
