Multivac Marking & Inspection At IFFA 2013

At IFFA 2013 in Frankfurt, the largest international trade exhibition for the meat industry, MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be showing a wide spectrum of marking solutions for trays, thermoformed packs and vacuum packs of meat and sausage products. The MULTIVAC daughter company will also be presenting several inspection systems, among them a MULTIVAC X-ray inspection system.
The MULTIVAC Group has continually expanded its range of inspection systems in the past year, and it will be presenting the latest new product developments at IFFA from 4. to 9. May 2013. These include the MULTIVAC seal seam scanner, a checkweigher with integrated metal detector and the MULTIVAC X-ray inspection systems, which are due to come on the market in May 2013.
A curtainless X-ray system, which is integrated in a traysealer line, will be presented at IFFA 2013. Even very light products can be checked for contamination with this system, without them being held back by lead curtains or shifted on the transport conveyor.
With its MVS seal seam scanner, MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be showing an inspection system, which scans the seal seams while they are still in the thermoforming packaging machine. It is there in the machine where the film, and therefore also the seal seam, is held very precisely, that the reliability of the image taking is increased.
With the checkweighers of the MR820 series, MULTIVAC has completed its product range for turnkey, end-to-end packaging lines. The checkweighers are available in three weight ranges. A version with an integrated multi-frequency metal detector is also available as a combined solution.
Single operation via HMU 2.0
MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be showing at IFFA, how the marking of trays, thermoformed packs and vacuum packs of meat and sausage products can be performed perfectly by means of various conveyor belt labellers from the MR300 series, and also by the MR625 cross web labeller and MR293 direct web printer.
All the exhibits in the marking products sector, including all the printers used, will be operated for the first time at IFFA via the MULTIVAC HMI 2.0 user interface. Michael Reffke, Product Man-ager for Marking Technology at MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection, explains: "The integration of our marking systems in the HMI 2.0 has the benefit that operators no longer have to change between different user interfaces. This means that we can reduce the number of control terminals in a MULTIVAC packaging line and also the necessary cabling. The packaging machine, on which a cross web labeller or direct web printer is fitted, or alternatively a conveyor belt labeller with several label dispensers and printers, becomes easier and clearer to operate and more hygienic in its construction".
Vision systems for quality control
The marking systems from MULTIVAC can be equipped with the entire range of process inspection systems currently on the market - from luminescence scanners, through barcode scanners and vision systems, right up to intelligent cameras. There are therefore numerous options available, covering the whole range of systems, to meet all requirements in label and print inspection.
