FSIS Reopens Retained Water Rule

The Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is reopening the comment period for the proposed rulemaking, "Retained Water in Raw Meat and Poultry Products: Poultry Chilling Performance Standards" (63 FR 48961, 9/11/98), in response to a request for additional time to submit comments. The comment period will reopen for 30 days. Comments must be received on or before Jan. 13, 1999.
