A food ingredient extracted from chicory, Frutafit inulin is a naturally occurring, non-digestible carbohydrate containing fructooligosaccharides (FOS).
Imperial Sensus, LLCedient extracted from chicory, Frutafit inulin is a naturally occurring, non-digestible carbohydrate containing fructooligosaccharides (FOS). Functionally, the ingredient improves the texture and mouthfeel of low-fat foods by increased lubricity - helping meat processors maintain juiciness and reduce crumbling in ground beef patties. It also allows for reduction of fat in sausages without reducing flavor, and helps whiten reprocessed poultry.

The ingredient has been used in a variety of European meat and poultry applications, such as beef patties, frankfurters, sausages, poultry, pates and low-fat versions of these products. Application rates range between two and five percent of the product.
