Difficult to analyze permeation projects where toxicity levels or off-odor concerns are a problem or where standard permeation equipment isn’t suited to perform the analysis on particular sample types has become a major part of our service.

Most film samples are analyzed using ASTM F739-85 as a reference, using the portable permeation cells described for the testing of polymer films. An Agilent 6890 Gas Chromatograph (GC) with a Mass Spectrometer Detector (MSD) is used to identify and quantify the challenge materials. Use of this instrumentation allows for accurate analysis of very low levels. We have the capability of performing the analysis at a temperature range from 25oC to 60oC at atmospheric pressure conditions.

We can prepare custom designed chambers to meet the needs of non-film samples such as balloons or tubing where the samples need to be analyzed in their original state.
