Aviagen Featured Best Management Practices And Popular Ross Products At London Poultry Show
Aviagen, the world’s leading poultry breeding company, joined more than 200 poultry industry exhibitors at the London Poultry Show, April 5-6, in London, Ontario, Canada. Aviagen showcased its popular Ross products and shared best chick management practices with attendees.
Sponsored by Canada’s Poultry Industry Council (PIC), the annual show welcomed more than 4,000 visitors to the Metroland Media Agriplex in the Western Fair District of London, Ontario, Canada.
This year was momentous, marking the show’s 60th anniversary of bringing together the best in the North American poultry industry, as well as the 20th birthday of PIC.
Aviagen kicked off the show on April 5 by hosting a joint dinner with long-time business partner CEVA, a veterinary health company.
Aviagen’s Ross brand of poultry breeding stock has long enjoyed success in the Canadian poultry market with its diversified product range that meets a variety of customer needs. The Ross 308 broiler breeder is renowned for its favorable growth rate and feed efficiency, as well as a strength and consistency of performance that Canadian customers have grown to rely on. The Ross 708 is also quite popular in the Canadian market for its exceptional meat yield.
Aviagen’s corporate decisions are guided by a “global reach, local touch” philosophy. As the company expands its worldwide footprint, it remains focused on meeting the needs and championing the success of its valued local customers. In line with this approach, Aviagen recently acquired a new hatchery 30 miles (50 km) south of Ontario in Watertown, N.Y. The close proximity of the hatchery has enhanced Aviagen’s ability to supply the best quality chicks to Canadian customers and support their success with the latest flock advice and management practices.
“This year’s London Poultry Show was a great success, as we were presented with multiple opportunities to meet with customers, listen to their challenges and ideas, and reaffirm our commitment to their success,” explained Scott Gillingham, Canadian regional business consultant for Aviagen.
At the show on April 6, Gillingham shared his expertise regarding the topic of “Best Brooding Management Practices” during a seminar hosted by the Chicken Farmers of Ontario.
Hosted each April by the PIC, the London Poultry Show is one of North America’s premier gatherings of poultry industry professionals. Its participating vendors demonstrate the industry’s latest and greatest products, services and technological developments, including incubators, humidifiers, vaccine manufacturing technology and poultry processing equipment.
