CHEP announced today an agreement with JBS USA (JBS), a leading processor of fresh and value-added beef, pork and poultry products in North America, to expand existing pallet volumes and engage in additional collaborative supply chain solutions. During the last 12 months, ongoing collaboration has resulted in the elimination of 880,000 empty truck miles from the JBS supply chain, resulting in a reduction of more than 3.3 million pounds of CO2 emissions.

The CHEP and JBS logistics teams worked for 12 months to evaluate the company’s transportation operation and develop and implement innovative solutions to make the network more efficient by reducing empty truck miles. JBS operates more than 600 trucks that move refrigerated and non-refrigerated products throughout the United States, with freight terminals located in Colorado, Wisconsin, Utah, Texas and Georgia.
