ULMA Presenting Latest Meat And Poultry Technology At Meatup

Meatup

Meat and poultry companies are being urged to attend the ULMA Packaging Ltd stand at the Meatup exhibition, to learn more about the latest high-speed technology developed by the company.

ULMA’s technical team will be on hand at Meatup to provide details of the huge range of packaging solutions it has available, including cook-in-the-bag technology to meet increasing demand from retailers for convenience packaging that helps in the battle against harmful bacteria such as campylobacter.

Designed so that consumers can pop chicken into the oven for cooking without having to handle the raw poultry, ULMA’s horizontal flowrapper, the Artic Quad, creates Polyester Ovenable Material or Barrier Laminate Material in quad and pillow pack formats with complete modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for extended shelf-life.

Once the chicken is wrapped, with or without a tray, the machine profiles and seals film on four corners for a box-like effect, adding extra value for suppliers by allowing printing on four sides of the pack and increasing the visibility of the product to shoppers.

During the two-day event ULMA will also provide information on its new generation of TFS Thermoformers - the most hygienic on the market thanks to an innovative design - which provide easy access for deep cleaning to help food manufacturers meet and even surpass the most exacting regulatory standards demanded by today’s industry.

Especially suitable for ready meals, fresh meat, processed meat, fish, poultry and pâtés, ULMA's thermoformers provide protective packaging that fits around the product like a second skin to extend shelf life. Other key benefits include moisture retention, the ability to customise pack shape and dimensions as well as the option to display the pack vertically. On the tray sealing front.

ULMA's TS 1000 is sure to attract interest with its high speed MAP packing of meat and poultry products, along with the new TSA 875, built to meet the most demanding requirements of the market.

ULMA's Managing Director, Chris Pickles, said: "Meatup gives us the ideal platform to explain our high quality packaging equipment for the meat and poultry industry. We are looking forward to a successful show where visitors can discover the range of customised solutions and strength of innovation available from ULMA."
