Mosca Provides Versatile, Cost Effective Strapping Solutions For Animal Protein Processors

In anticipation the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPEExpo.org) in January, EAM-Mosca reviews its product line of strapping systems for meat, poultry and seafood processors.

Hazle Township, PA (PRWEB) - From Kosher meat packers in New York City to major beef, pork and poultry processors in the heartland; to wild caught and farmed fish packers from Alaska to Chile, EAM-Mosca provides high performing, application appropriate strapping systems to meet virtually every need of this demanding industry.

Independent of system configurations and corrosion resistance, the basic engine of Mosca strappers provides the ruggedness, reliability and low cost-of-ownership that producers need. All Mosca equipment is driven by DC brushless direct motor drives, minimizing mechanical components, noise, dirt and service requirements. Most Mosca products feature sealed bearings and open construction to make the equipment less sensitive to dust, dirt and moisture than competitive products. And Mosca’s newest products are built with a strap path that, from strap dispenser forward, can be disassembled without tools and that can be cleaned and serviced in a flash.

In addition, Mosca’s expertise in sealing technology and operating reliability offer many producers a money saving opportunity by reducing strap size and ultimately cost per package. We have multiple customers who have paid their equipment investment off in a year or less through strap and repair parts savings alone.

For applications where the ambient environment is temperature and humidity controlled, standard powder coated models are a great solution. The ROMP-6 in bottom seal, footswitch actuated models or fully automatic powered roller conveyor versions provide fast, efficient strapping at a very modest investment.

The next step up in corrosion resistance is the ROMP-6-VA Hybrid. This model has standard cabinet and internal parts, with stainless and other corrosion resistant materials from the table up. It comes in a footswitch cycled configuration, is priced to reflect the limited quantity of higher cost materials it uses, and satisfies the requirements of users who want to be certain that machine surfaces that are in close proximity to their product are rust free.

Finally, companies who strap in cold, wet environments and want appropriate moisture and corrosion resistance, can choose from several models in bottom and side seal configurations.

The TRS4/1-VA and its successor, the TRS55-VA are side seal machines that are the standard in the Chilean fish farming and other high moisture applications. Side seal units are best in environments where drippage can affect the sealer operation. With dozens of machines sold over many years these units are proven performers in tough applications. They can be installed in footswitch mode or fully automatic with Mosca or third party conveyor positioning the product. TRS55-VA can be purchased in heat seal or Mosca’s proprietaty Sonixs ultra-sonic sealing technology. Sonixs offers the advantages of lower energy usage, smokeless operation and indifference to temperature and moisture variation.

Finally, the TRP5C-VA-Sonixs is Mosca’s fully automatic, highly corrosion resistant market entry for high production, fully automated environments. It is a mainstay in many poultry, beef and pork plants and has built a reputation for reliability, high throughput and low operating cost. It can comfortably place two straps on 20 boxes per minute. For extreme situations, EAM-Mosca offers a 2 machine “tandem” configuration where the machines work cooperatively to achieve even higher outputs with a fail-safe option where if one machine faults for any reason, the second unit continues production without operator intervention. In addition, controls can be customized to meet local requirements. For example at a large Canadian pork producer, the machines use a variety of sensors to detect multiple package characteristics to apply the proper number of straps in specific locations.

Since committing about 5 years ago to become a leading supplier of strapping systems to meat, poultry and seafood packers, EAM-Mosca has successfully proven the performance capability of Mosca strappers in nearly 100 installations and a variety of environments. Customers have benefitted from higher throughputs in their plants as well as lower strap, parts and maintenance costs. Our goal is to convince our customers that strapping can be a productive part of their packing process, and not a burdensome requirement as some have viewed it in the past.

EAM-Mosca Corporation provides high-performance strapping system solutions to a variety of industries, including food, graphic arts, mailing, fulfillment, logistics, corrugated, wood, and other industrial or consumer goods. We combine innovative equipment with strapping materials manufactured to maximize machine performance and customer support programs that help our customers meet their performance and productivity goals.
