Ishida Versatility On Display

The wide-ranging versatility of Ishida’s weighing and quality control solutions will be amply demonstrated at this year’s PPMA Show where the company’s stand will feature a variety of models from its multihead weigher and X-ray ranges.

New developments on display will be a WP ‘waterproof’ version of the RV multihead weigher which has been independently certified as having a market-leading level of water and dust ingress protection, and the IX-G2 dual energy X-ray-inspection system, capable of detecting even the smallest bones in meat and poultry at high inspection speeds.

Other models on show include weighing solutions for fresh meat and poultry, and whole fruit and root vegetables, and an entry-level multihead weigher ideal for dry products such as snacks, confectionery, biscuits and pasta, as well as the multipurpose IX-GA-4075 X-ray inspection solution.

IP rating tests carried out at a leading UK independent testing centre have proved that the Ishida RV’s design and assembly consistently comply with the highest industry standards. These relate to dust and water ingress resistance, including the most stringent IP-69K test. This compliance means the weighers are more water resistant than ever before and are perfectly suited in applications where equipment has to be thoroughly sanitized.

In addition, the RV-WP range is also certified for IP-6X (dust tight), IP-X5 (protected against water jets), IP-X6 (against powerful water jets) and IP-X7 (protected against temporary immersion).

The Ishida IX-G2 X-ray uses advanced dual energy technology to easily distinguish contaminants from the product, even in the most difficult applications. It is particularly appropriate for foods where the density of the product and the potential contamination is similar, for example the bone and meat of a chicken which have almost the same density.

The system can also be used for products that are overlapped in a pack or bag, where a possible contaminant may be obscured by product pieces, such as in bags of frozen chicken nuggets or sausages.

Ishida’s RV range has further raised the bar in multihead weighing delivering the highest levels of accuracy of any multihead weigher while increasing speeds by a further 15% and at the same time reducing power consumption by 20%. Demonstrating the flexibility and adaptability of the range the CCW-RV-214-70-S on display has been developed specifically to handle whole fruits and root vegetables, including oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, potatoes, onions and garlic, at high speeds of up to 60 packs per minute with minimal bruising and reduced noise levels.

Other multihead solutions on show include the Ishida CCW-M-106 Fresh Food Weigher for the effective handling and weighing of sticky products such as ready meals, fresh meat and poultry or prepared fruit and vegetables; and the CCW-SE-214, which offers reliable automation and renowned Ishida accuracy and speed at an entry-level price.

Completing the line up will be Ishida’s pioneering IX-GA advanced X-ray inspection system that can detect foreign bodies down to 0.3mm, including aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, bones and shells, as well as missing items and damaged products.
