Comprehensive Labelling And Inspection Solutions For The Meat-Processing Industry

From 7 to 12 May MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be presenting at IFFA (Hall 11.1, Stand C11) various labelling, marking and inspection solutions for use in the meat-processing industry. Thanks to its comprehensive product portfolio, the company can react flexibly to the widest range of customer needs.

Economical labellers

At IFFA economical conveyor belt labellers from the BASELINE L 300 series will be shown by MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection for labelling tasks in the low to medium output range. The entry-level models can be integrated in packaging lines or used as stand-alone solutions, and they can apply top and bottom labels as well as labels over the edge of packs.

Wide variety of labellers

The conveyor belt labellers of the L 310 and L 330 series offer maximum flexibility as regards label positioning, product handling, printing and inspection. At IFFA MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be presenting a L 310 for top and bottom labelling as part of a traysealer line. A L 330 conveyor belt labeller with side-driven toothed belt guides, which will be integrated in a thermoforming packaging line, ensures that packs of sliced products are perfectly labelled.

Reliable and flexible printing solutions

The functional spectrum of the thermal transfer printers to be exhibited extends from simple printing tasks up to the high-resolution marking of films and labels with graphics, QR codes and variable data. While the smallest model, the TTO 05, is controlled via an external touchscreen, the TTO 10, TTO 11 and TTO 20 models are operated via the control terminal of the packaging machine or marking system. This means that efficient and reliable operation is assured. The TTO 11 is also equipped with IP65 protection, so that it can be used in production environments where wet cleaning is carried out.

Foreign body detection and product inspection

MULTIVAC will be showing a low-cost, entry-level model with its BASELINE I 100 X-ray inspection system. The compact model detects foreign bodies made of metal, glass, bone, stone, ceramics and dense plastic. The BASELINE I 100 can also be used for checking the completeness or fill level of packs, as well as for checking the integrity of products. MULTIVAC will also be presenting the I 211 checkweigher with metal detector, which will be completely integrated in a thermoforming packaging line. Thanks to integrated recipe management, the settings of the checkweigher and metal detector can be controlled on the control terminal of the packaging machine. This enables the interaction between man and machine to be reduced, and the level of both automation and process reliability is increased.

So that labelling and marking reliability can be increased still further, MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be showing a wide range of solutions: a preview of the correct label on the control terminal, the automatic loading of the correct print layout, and the inspection of labels and marking by means of visual inspection systems all ensure that the label and its data content match the actual product.
