Toronto, Ontario - Anitech has sold its first PG-100 Pork Grading Probe to an American pork packing plant. The probe is being installed by Anitech's US distributor Vande Berg Scales. Some of the advantages of Anitech's PG-100 Pork Grading Probe are its single unit design that makes it easy to install and user friendly, low annual service costs due to its durability and an average working life in excess of ten years, and very competitive pricing. The PG-100 Pork Grading Probe has been manufactured and serviced by Anitech since 1984 and is used at thirty-six plants in Canada and Mexico.

"This is a great first step in establishing sales in the US market; it builds on our excellent track record in Canada and Mexico. Our relationship with Vande Berg means that all our US customers will receive outstanding service by a team based in the US," said Anitech President & CEO Paul Brown. "This is a great first step in positioning the PG-100 as a market leader in the US within the next few years. We are very excited about the PG-100 and Anitech as a company," said Russ Gardner, Marketing Manager for Vande Berg Scales (www.vbssys.com).

Pork packing plants use the Anitech probe to electronically measure fat and meat on a carcass and to generate a yield percentage. These measurements are used as the basis of a carcass grade and for payment to pork producers. The Anitech probe is manufactured in Canada and has demonstrated its durability and reliability over eighteen years of continuous service at pork slaughter plants.

Anitech also manufactures the DT-500 Data Collection System. Sixteen pork and beef plants already use the DT-500 to collect qualitative carcass data such as weight, grade, identification, and veterinary assessment data in real time. The system is specially designed for the harsh kill floor environment. With the move towards livestock traceability, Anitech's DT-500 is a proven and flexible tool that helps packing plants improve yields and profits, and meet the growing need for individual carcass data collection and tracking.
