But what should you do when the market demands for new products and thus the daily product changes on the filling machine increase? Especially due to the increasing demand for allergen-free food products all product contact parts of the filling machine must be absolutely clean. This can only be guaranteed by intensifying the cleaning process.

Therefore this means quite a lot of time-consuming product changes and cleaning procedures during one working day for those suppliers who want to fill and offer these products in a flexible production according to the customer’s individual requirements.

The mechanical engineering company GRUNWALD in Wangen offers such an innovation, their mobile dosing system MOBIFILL which is used in connection with their rotary-type cup filling machines.

The solution is exchanging the dosing system
The trick of this combination is that a complete dosing system is ex-changed for another already cleaned and filled dosing system in case of a product change. Thus the product change can be carried out in a very easy, extremely comfortable and rapid way within a realistic minimum 3 minute range. In addition the exchange of the complete dosing system with all contact parts guarantees an allergen-free production.

The MOBIFILL dosing systems can be connected and disconnected without tools and with little effort in just a few movements. All product-specific settings of the dosing system are stored in the cup filling ma-chine. This means: even if several dosing systems are used alternately– time-consuming re-adjustments or adjustments of the settings are no longer necessary. There are not any electric or pneumatic connections which have to be removed or linked.

The disconnected dosing systems can be cleaned in a comfortable way during production – without standstill time of the filling machine – and thus even outside the production rooms. The cleaning process itself is quite simple. Due to the tiltable design of the hopper the dosing systems are easy to access for cleaning. The cleaning is very comfortable and a platform is not required.

The dosing system is suitable for a large number of filling products such as e.g. mayonnaise-based delicatessen salads, raw vegetable salads, meat salads or fish salads but also for sausage / meat products and pet-food or dairy products and desserts, sauces, mustard or pâté. Depending on the design of the dosing system the dosing range is between 20 ccm – 1,900 ccm.

Due to the quick modification of the cup filler it is possible to fill many different products based on the maximum performance and flexibility. The filling of various container sizes is possible.

Especially when filling big containers remarkable production speeds can be achieved. Producers of delicatessen state outputs of more than 7 tons per hour. This means 120 kg of product are filled per minute.

When grossing up this to many product changes this results in considera-ble time savings in the daily production process. Finally this is another factor resulting in the reduction of costs. It is of special interest that the coaction of the mobile dosing systems and a rotary-type filling machine guarantees smooth production processes and that shortest possible standstill times are achieved.
