Presentation: Shelf-Life Evaluation: Combining Barrier And Package Integrity Measurement To Successfully Achieve A Viable System
This presentation from MOCON will outline the following: permeation measurement methodology, package integrity, traditional flow leak detection methods, Poiseuille's Law, and general cautions in evaluating leak size results.
Traditional Flow Leak Detection Methods Pressure/Vacuum
Pressure Method:
- Hole size determination an art.
- Higher cost pressure regulation required.
- High cost flow sensor required.
- Less sensitivity, packages burst & creep, therefore flow.
- Complex integration with O2 HSA.
- Same as pressure, BUT
- More sensitivity, no burst or creep.
- Easier to integrate with O2 HSA.
- Easier to integrate volume measurements.
- Any flow indicates a leak.
